The Grove

Climbing on the deer!

Sitting on the fish...all lips!!

Slayton met his friends Jillian and Mariana at The Grove today to play for awhile. It is amazing how much more he can do on his own now compared to the last time Chad and I took him there. He had so much fun!

I wonder...

Here is my 24 week belly pic, although I am now 25 weeks. Things are still going great with this pregnancy and I am feeling 100%. I will have to say time is going by fast and before we know it that little boy will be here. We are so anxious to meet him. I find myself day dreaming about what it will be like. I wonder how I will juggle two little boys on a daily basis, I guess I'm lucky I'm not doing it alone :) I wonder what he will look like, will he at all resemble Slayton at all? I wonder what his temperament will be like, will we have it as easy as we have had with Slayton? I wonder how Slayton will adjust to sharing his time, he has had our complete attention for the past 18 months. So many things to wonder about, it just makes the upcoming arrival of this little one that much more exciting. Like I have mentioned before, with the holidays right around the corner, time will continue to fly by and he will be here before you know it!!

Gun Season 2009

Chad finally got a deer this weekend. He has been trying very hard since the end of September. He actually shot a doe opening weekend and now he got a buck. We will have plenty of meat in the freezer.
Chad's 10 point buck (minus the G4 that is broken off on the left side)
Slayton with looking at Daddy's deer. As soon as Chad pulled the deer out of the truck and onto the ground, Slayton ran over to it, pointed at it and said "De!" He can't make the "r" sound yet but he definitely knows what a deer is!

Waiting game...

Taking a break while waiting for Daddy to come back to the house.

Looking for the boys, wondering and waiting!

It is a waiting game for Slayton and I when we go to the farm back in NE. A waiting game for Daddy to finally return and update us about his hunting.
It is also a wondering game? Did they get a deer? Are they seeing any buck or does? Are they sitting in stands or walking land? What is taking so long?

Then the moment comes when Daddy walks through the door and it is all better!

Kindermusik

We are in our second round of kindermusik. Slayton loves going there and seeing all his little friends. He is one of the younger ones in this class but does really well considering. When we do songs and walk in circles, he prefers to hold the other kids' hands, it is so cute.

18 months

It is hard to believe that Slayotn is already 18 months old --- 1 1/2 year old --- where has the time gone? He is truly the light of our lives and makes us smile often throughout the day. We spend so many evenings and weekends just watching him play and continue to learn new things. We are amazed daily.
He is really starting to strike up many conversations throughout the day. His favorite words and phrases are:
bus - (all time favorite)
dog
dad
uh oh
all done
duck
mama
apple
where did it go

He still continues to sign to help in his communication. He can sign:
eat
more
tree
all done
ball
please
thank you

He knows the sound of some animals including:
monkey
cow
sheep
tiger

He loves to play with his cars, read books, drive his car, play with his bus, golf with daddy, make a basket in his bb hoop, climb on the couch and bed and take all his DVD and books off the shelves in his bedroom. He definitely keeps me busy picking up after him. I have finally got him to start helping

We love you Slayton and look forward to many more wonderful years with you!!!
